Onda PRO Body Contouring

Onda PRO is a body contouring device that uses microwave energy (2.45 GHz, Coolwaves® technology) to selectively heat fat tissue beneath the skin through one of three handpieces, while integrated cooling protects the skin’s surface from overheating. The procedure is suitable for anyone concerned about localized fat deposits, cellulite, or skin firmness, and for most patients, results become visible during a full course of treatment supervised by a specialist.

The procedure is ideal for:

  • if you're bothered by localized fat deposits that aren't reduced by diet or exercise
  • if you want to improve the appearance of cellulite
  • if your skin has lost its firmness and you want to firm it up
  • If you're looking for a non-invasive solution with no recovery period
  • if you have previously tried similar procedures without success and would like a specialist-guided, precisely dosed approach

A Brief Overview of Onda PRO Body Contouring

Before the visit

Before the visit

  • Before the visitThe specialist first assesses the condition of the skin and fatty tissue. The procedure is suitable only for areas where the layer of fat is thicker than 1 cm; if necessary, the specialist will recommend an ultrasound examination.
  • Before the visitOn the day of the procedure, remove any creams, lotions, and deodorant from your skin.
  • Before the visitIf you have received botulinum toxin injections or fillers in the same area in recent months, please inform your specialist—Onda PRO may reduce their effectiveness.
  • Before the visitThe procedure is not performed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding (up to 10 months after childbirth), if you have a cardiac implant or a pacemaker, or if you have had cancer within the last 5 years.
What happens during the procedure

What happens during the procedure

  • What happens during the procedureA specialist applies a thin layer of oil to the treatment area and cools the skin to as low as 5 °C—this protects the skin’s surface while microwave energy heats the fat tissue beneath the skin.
  • What happens during the procedureMove the handheld device in smooth, continuous motions over a 15×15 cm area for at least 7–10 minutes to ensure that the subcutaneous tissue warms up evenly throughout the entire area.
  • What happens during the procedureDuring the procedure, you may feel warmth and a slight tingling sensation; less commonly, temporary redness may occur. The intensity is adjusted.
  • What happens during the procedureA single session lasts 30–60 minutes, depending on the size of the area.
After the procedure

After the procedure

  • After the procedureMild, temporary reactions—such as redness, a sensation of warmth, tingling, or slight swelling—usually subside within a few days.
  • After the procedureAfter the procedure, avoid direct sunlight on the treated area.
  • After the procedureThe same area may be treated again no sooner than 15 days later.
  • After the procedureIf you experience severe redness, blisters, or severe pain, contact the clinic. In very rare cases (less than 1 in 100,000), a permanent lump may develop.
Results

Results

  • ResultsFor most patients, after a course of treatment, abdominal circumference and localized fat deposits decrease, and the severity of cellulite improves—the skin’s surface becomes smoother.
  • ResultsThe specialist evaluates the results about 2 months after the last session, since the skin and fat tissue change gradually, not immediately.
  • ResultsResults vary from person to person and depend on the initial condition, the treatment area, and adherence to the treatment regimen.
Frequency

Frequency

  • FrequencyA full course typically consists of 4 sessions per area, with one session every 4 weeks.
  • FrequencyDo not treat the same area again until at least 15 days have passed.
  • FrequencyAfter completing the course, the specialist recommends a follow-up examination in a few months to evaluate the results and agree on next steps, if necessary.
  • FrequencyThe results of a single session differ from those of a full course—the documented clinical benefit applies to the entire course, not to a single visit.

How does Onda PRO work?

Onda PRO uses high-frequency microwave energy in the 2.45 GHz range—the manufacturer, DEKA, refers to this technology as Coolwaves®. The energy selectively increases molecular vibrations in fatty tissue, creating a controlled, localized increase in temperature beneath the skin, while the handheld device’s built-in cooling system protects the skin’s surface from overheating throughout the entire procedure.

Coolwaves® — 2.45 GHz microwave energy

The frequency is selected so that the energy selectively heats the fat tissue beneath the skin without affecting the surrounding tissues. The power is adjustable from 20 W to 200 W, and the dose ranges from 1,000 J to 200,000 J, ensuring that each session is precisely repeatable.

Three handheld devices for different depths and area sizes

Deep PRO (Ø66 mm) reaches deeper fat layers in larger areas, while Shallow PRO (Ø56 mm) targets cellulite and skin tone, while the smallest, the Ø36.5 mm Pocket PRO, allows for precise treatment of small areas, including the chin area.

Cooling of the skin throughout the irradiation area

Each handheld device cools the skin while heating it—the temperature can be set from 5 °C to 22 °C. This allows the heat to penetrate deeper without placing excessive strain on the skin’s surface.

Benefits

  • Precise dosing: power and dose can be set in 10 W / 1000 J increments; the system automatically calculates the remaining time.
  • Controlled contact: The handheld device's indicator displays the quality of the connection and stops transmission if the contact is insufficient.
  • Fixed safety limit: It is recommended not to measure surface temperatures higher than 40–41 °C, and cooling keeps them within these limits.
  • Only to be operated by a specialist: The device's instruction manual stipulates that it may only be operated by a specialist with specific training.

2.45 GHz Coolwaves® energy, three handpieces ranging from Ø36.5 mm to Ø66 mm, power up to 200 W, and energy delivery up to 200,000 J—with cooling that protects the skin throughout the entire procedure.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is the procedure painful?

During the procedure, you will feel warmth and a slight tingling sensation. The specialist adjusts the intensity.

Is there a recovery period after the procedure?

There is generally no specific recovery period. You may experience temporary redness or a sensation of warmth, which will subside within a few days; you can resume your normal daily activities immediately.

How many sessions are needed?

A full course typically consists of 4 sessions per area, spaced 4 weeks apart. Documented results appear after the entire course, not after a single visit.

How long do the results last?

The results are individual and develop gradually. The doctor will evaluate them approximately 2 months after the last session and recommend a follow-up schedule.

For whom is this procedure not suitable?

Pregnant women, breastfeeding women (up to 10 months after giving birth), patients with cardiac implants, or those with active cancer. A doctor will review the complete list during a consultation.

Can I combine this procedure with Botox or fillers?

That may be true, but Onda PRO can reduce their effects—your doctor will recommend the most appropriate sequence and the interval between treatments.

Is additional testing required before the procedure?

Often, yes. The doctor assesses the thickness of the fatty tissue, and if there are any suspicious lesions, he or she may recommend an ultrasound before starting the treatment.

Who performs the Onda PRO procedure?

Only a doctor with special training in the use of this device — the instructions for use specify that it must be used only under the supervision of a qualified specialist.

Is Onda PRO good for weight loss?

No. The procedure is designed to improve localized fat deposits, cellulite, and skin firmness—not to treat general obesity or promote weight loss.
